Okay, this one will be a little less formal, but no less detailed in introduction.
Anyhow, welcome to the Shattenjager Backup Wiki, sister Wiki to the Stormrain Paranormal Backup Wiki… this wiki will detail the paranormal and occult mentioned in popular culture, or rather fiction, including movies, video games, books and other media not mentioned here. The idea is to pretty much list all those in a single Wiki, as well as reviewing them, both in terms of how good they are, and how accurate they are in terms of representing the subject matter the game tackles. Anyway, you may be surprised at what media gets mentioned here, given it may not seem obviously rooted in the paranormal or occult or it doesn't seem realistic, but usually there's a good reason it's there. Realism doesn't matter too much for this, because if we were tackling everything with realism, this Wiki would be very empty! Instead, we want to tackle anything that even remotely features anything paranormal in it, because, well it features that sort of thing.
Of course, this most likely means that as well as savouring the cream of the crop, we shall have to scrape the bottom of the barrel, but no one ever said it was going to be easy! Either way, I hope that in time, this will become an informative and entertaining site, and perhaps you'll learn something new, or perhaps your memory will be jogged about something, as I know for a fact that I've seen movies and games and forgotten the names of them! All I might remember from them is the paranormal aspects, as so many of us do!
Anyway, I haven't even told you where Shattenjager comes from, have I? Those of you who know German will know that it means "Shadowhunter" (properly spelt Shattenjäger - with an umlaut over the 'a'), and some of you who have played a game called Gabriel Knight may have come across this term as well. In fact, it was this series that introduced everyone to the term. Imagine my surprise though when I found that shattenjager.com wasn't registered when I went looking to see if it was. Of course, as you may have guessed, I registered it, but it'll be used as the main repository for all this stuff. This one will be used as a backup, although I hope to have it updated first. The best thing about having two places for storing stuff though is that if one fails, I still have the backup available. Although, considering the site hasn't started yet, this may end up being the only place that has anythign to do with the content for a while.
Anyway, if you have read this far, well done! I'll try to get something up, although it may be a couple of days before I get something substantial up. I'll at least have some placeholders and skeleton stuff up though.
On with the show as it were. And remember if you want paranormal or occult stuff grounded in reality, I'd recommend checking out Stormrain Paranormal at some point, that is when I get it up and running.
